Re-installing with a new Mobo

I'm getting a new motherboard and putting a new cpu on it, but I want to keep everything else - including Windows 7 which came pre-installed on the system hard-drive.

I've heard that if I just swap out the motherboard and switch it all on - it won't work - or at least is unlikely to. What can I do, if anything, in order to re-install my Win 7 that will work with a new motherboard?

1. I have created, I think, a boot disk for my Win 7 in case the hard-drive fails or Windows otherwise crashes/becomes un-repairable (Factory settings.) Will this work?

2. I have backed up all my files, but I'm worried if my games can be restored without having to register them again. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for your time.

You will have to buy another win 7 OS. Your orig. win 7 will not be able to re-install because you need a new key code to recognize the new upgrades. What you heard about swapping out motherboards is true.
