Re-Occurring issue, not booting with new X99 system?

New PC, had this issue originally when first built but the issue was gone the next day. Now it has happened again.

The issue is that my PC won't boot, there is no LEDs on the motherboard to suggest that it is getting power, no fans start to spin when my power button is pushed.

I have tried unplugging everything but the PSU, Motherboard, RAM, CPU and GPU to see if it helped but still nothing.

We have tried swapping PSU (from a working build) to see if this helped but it didn't. After spending hours trying to solve it I give up initially and ordered a replacement motherboard, but the next day the PC was working fine with no issues until now where it wont turn on again.

I haven't yet replaced the motherboard as it suddenly started working, just want to know what everyone else thinks and if I should replace the motherboard or if this is something to do with the power it is trying to draw?

Corsair 32GB (4x8GB) 2400mhz Vengeance LPX DDR4

I have the same motherboard (X99-Deluxe) and I when I first got it put together, I had light on the power and reset button the motherboard but nothing else. My GPU and CPU cooler lights were not on.

I'd hit the case's power button and nothing would happen. I'd press the motherboard's power button and about one out of 5 times, it would flicker for a fraction of a second. Enough to make the fans jiggle and that's it. They'd move slightly and fall back to their original position.

I unplugged the ATX power supply cable from the motherboard, the PSU itself, and the power cord leading to the PSU. I then plugged them all back in. This changed nothing. I read through my manuals again to check what I had plugged in and found them to be correct. I hit the motherboard power button again and it booted right up. I haven't had a problem since. It's as if waiting 15 minutes solved the problem.

It's hard to say if my issue was a PSU issue or a motherboard issue but as an engineer, I'd generally categorize this problem as a gremlin. Which sucks.

I would get a replacement motherboard. It won't hurt you to do so (besides some lost time and maybe shipping fees) but even if it's working again tomorrow, you didn't pay for an expensive motherboard that works most of the time.

I would check your PSU out a bit more to rule that out. Make sure its light is on when only plugged into the wall and try plugging fans directly into it if you have that hardware to do so. You could also try using another PSU if you have one. If it's not that then it's almost certainly your motherboard and I think a replacement would be warranted.

Thanks for the reply Sneezer, when trying to solve the issue again yesterday and going through all the basics steps again I left the PC unplugged for about 15 minutes and this worked. Seems that this is what must of happened the first time to make it work again.

So it is hard to tell if this is a Mobo or PSU fault, initially we tried another PSU (Corsair CX750) which we knew was working as we'd just pulled it from a working PC. This didn't work at the time, but we left it for the night as it got late and it worked the next morning, so I cabled up my BeQuiet PSU and that worked too.

I was using it everyday since Tuesday night up until Saturday morning (where it wouldn't turn on), I turn it off every night and it generally get around 8 hours of use every day or even more if I'm off work.

I'll see how it goes from here as it is working again and let you know if the problem occurs again, If it does then I'm gonna have to replace the motherboard and cross my fingers.

Thanks for the info.
