Question (Re)-Programming multimedia keys

I have an old HP wireless keyboard that I want to keep using, it has a whole lot of extra keys (multimedia and also programmable shortcut keys for a lot of things (mail, net, chat, etc, etc). Of course these don't work under win10 and the original driver does not work on 64-bit.
My question is this: how can I intercept the codes that the keyboard is sending so that I can reprogram the scan codes . I have used AutoHotKey, but it doesn't see the scan codes of these special keys. Is there another way to intercept the scan codes? Someone has an idea about some low level soft that can do this?
