Hi guys, i want to ask you some things, please help me:
I just bought a Seagate HDD Drive 3TB: st3000dm001 and this enclosure: http://www.hornettek.com/vintage/3-5-enclosure-v/hornettek-goliath-black-144.html
It shows full capacity of the this, but First I copied some data plugging it onto as internal via SATA port.
Then installed the this into the enclosure, then my data has not showed, and Windows said needs to be formatted.
I was wondering if there is a way to use in both, Internal via SATA and external via enclosure, I don't want to buy another enclosure as long as posible.
So, is there a way i can read the data if the enclosure fails?
What can I do, do I need to bought another enclosure to solve the problem, wich enclosure is recommended?
have been read a lot of articles about 4k and 5123 sectors, and maybe my chipset is not intented for 3TB HDD, it show an asmt chipset, don't remember right now the specific model. There is a firmware update to solve this problems?
Also I've read this article http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/284109-32-anyone-with-enclosure
I also have http://the-gadgeteer.com/2006/03/22/brando_usb_2_0_to_sata_ide_cable/ and seems no problem handling the hard disk .
I don't know if my enclosure has a creepy chipset and will corrupt my data beyond 2 Tb I still don't fill that much the HDD.
Please help me with those doubts.
Can I partition to use 3tb to use in both ways, SATA and USB Enclosure?
Sorry for my english, I speak Spanish natively.
Thanks in advance.
