I am unable to read text File attachments that were generated by a Mac using
its MS Works 2.0 formatting. My new PC is a Works 8.0 Windows XPbased system.
I have no trouble reading spreadsheets sent rom that same computer in the Mac
Excel format. Suggestions please.

Visit the MS WORKS site and download the converters they
have for earlier versions.

http://www.microsoft.com/products/works/default.mspx

It is possible that the Mac 2.0 version may not have any
converters, you may need to open those files on the Mac and
use "save as" to change the file to rtf or txt or doc
format, the wps WORKS format changed with each step in the
revision process.

Don't try to open the attachment directly, save it to your
hard drive. Then open your WORKS program and use the
file/open command to select and open the file, this will
allow whatever converters that are installed to see the file
and convert it to a newer version.

RTF is a universal format supported by just about all word
processors and also WordPad. It means Rich Text.
