Question Reads RAM stick as 8GB instead of 16GB

Hello peeps

I just realized that I have only 50% of my memory working. I have 2 stick 2*16GB but both of them reads as 8GB both in BIOS and on Windows. So for now I tryed :

- Bios update
- Switching slots
- Cleaning slots
- Replace batter
- Tested all slots 1by1 behavior always same reads as 8gb stick


Mobo Asus Prime Z270
CPU i7-6700
DDR4 Corsair 2* 16GB 3000

If that matches the model number on the sticker then you have a 16GB kit that consists of 2 8GB dimms not 16GB dimms.

Looks like it. It's 2*8 not 2*16.

does ram sticker says same model as SPD model on picture?

like mine 2x16GB gskill sticks have stickers with F4-3200C14-32GTZR
but SPD entry is F4-3200C14-16GTZR)

How much did you pay for them?
€50 is a normal price for cmk16gx4m2b3000c15 (Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB CL15 3000mhz kit).

Look at the CPU-Z spd tabs.
They will identify the make/model of the stick installed.
If the kit is a matched pair of 32gb, the individual sticks should be 16gb, and that is what you should see in the spd tabs.
