Ok guys this is what im getting ready to order. Just a few questions. Does this look like everything works? Did i forget anything? What does OEM mean, and do OEM hard drives come with cables needed to hook them up? I just want to make sure that if i order this stuff i dont have to run to every comp store in town buying cables, trying to have as little stress as possible. If anything is wrong please let me know. If not thanks for your time and how do you think it will perform?

Thanks,

Aside from P4Man's comments...
OEM=Original Equipment Manufacturer OEM stuff simply comes in as little packaging as possible, usually without manuals and a fancy box. OEM CPUs don't come with a heatsink/fan, and OEM Hard disks don't usually come with cables, no.

about oem; what chipdeath said, but motherboards almost always come with all required cables (ide, floppy,..), even the oem boxes. Just don't expect sata cables or fancy extra long rounded ones (though some still include those). What could be lacking is the power cord though, power supplies typically don't come with one afaik (at least my enermax box didnt include one), and neither do cases that ship without PSU's.

A good point, but I usually find the boards only come with a single flat IDE ribbon cable - so unless you're getting a SATA hard disk you'll still need one more for optical drive(s).

Really ? Don't know, never paid much attention, as I toss them all in my magic brown cardboard box with spares. I must have at least two dozen of those ribbon cables -as well as half a bucket worth of screws, mb spacers, backplates, optical drive/sound cables.. like most of us I guess :)

Don't forget to mention OEM equipment typically has less to no warranty compared to retail parts. Hard drives and optical drives seem to be exceptions to the rule. CPUs however only come with a 90-day manufacturer warranty in their OEM form; sometimes retailers will offer more.

Looks good, one suggestion I would have is buy a UPS instead of a surge strip; you can get a decent one for the same price, and it does a better job protecting your components.

How are you gonna load XP Home Upgrade on that SATA drive? It won't boot on Win98. Facing the same problem here. let me know how you solve it.

OC huh? Now see, about that, ive taken a few it classes in school, and we briefly went over it but i never really got the total idea on how to do it, i mean i know you go into the bios and change the multiplier but is that it?
