Real DOS Mode

i am running win 98 SE on a HP laptop and i have this .exe file that requires real DOS mode. tried the usual recommended methods of not letting the program detect windows, booting from disk and booting to command prompt and etc, but can't get it to work. any one got any ideas?

You hit f8 at boot, and boot to the command prompt only?

You can try 'step by step confirmation', then don't process the registry, process config.sys and autoexec.bat, and don't run ifshelp or win.

That's as gawd-awful-real-mode-dos as it gets. Even 6.22 doesn't get any worse. I still have to run star control 2 that way.....

thanks for the tip. it didn't work though. still could work that stupid file.
