I often see inquiries regarding the power draw of a gaming rig.

Here's the data I measured this morning by using a KILLAWATT device (TOTAL SYSTEM POWER CONSUMPTION NOT INCLUDING MONITOR):

1. SYSTEM SHUT OFF: 1.7 W/Hr (AKA Ghost power consumption)

2. SYSTEM LOADING WINDOWS: 100-130W

3. IDLE AT DESKTOP: 65W/hr (only CPU 2 fans & 1 intake fan working)

4: 60 FPS GAMING @ 3440X1440: 239-245W/Hr

4770k@4.5 GHz OC
GTX 1080: 5% overclock. (Palit GTX 1080 Game Rock)
6 fans working
CPU fan working (2 fans)
ASUS Maximus VI Hero
Silverstone Strider Gold 850W PSU
Thermaltake Frio OCK CPU fan (2 fans)
2 HDD's
2 SSD's

My PSU is a relic of the good'ol days when I had 2X GTX 580's SLI'd and a Core 2 Extreme QX9650. Incredibly power efficient even at such low draws. It could power three systems like mine gaming side-by-side. This is a reminder on how much more power efficient systems have become after the Core 2 CPU & Fermi GPU days-of-glory.
