Hi all, This happens often and I haven't been able to get to the bottom of it. I have a two-person office with two computers. The reception machine is ethernet wired directly to a good router. My computer uses wifi from about 40 feet away but there is a steel-stud wall between us.

Sometimes my computer just crawls. I'll run a speed-test at 1.2mb but my wireless network connection shows four of five bars at around72mb on the network 2.4g feed.

My computer is under my desk and has a stock Dell card somewhere on the board making me wonder if that is the weak link. The driver is up to date.

Any ideas on where to find the bottleneck would help. Thanks, sh

PS Win 10, lots of memory, cleaned cache, no other apps running, barebones.

Solution
You probably need to get new hardware somewhere. A 72mb physical link says that your hardware is probably an "N" device on one end or the other.
What router do you have and what WIFI device does your computer have ?
