So, when I am playing various games such as half life 2, battlefield 4. Bioshock infinite etc. on my gaming laptop I tend to experience really bad screen tearing and it is very common. This seems to be worse for me than anyone else and it is really starting to bug me out. I don't like to use vsync as with older games such as half life 2 it easily drops down to 30 fps and it also takes away frames when in certain areas of the game (this can also be the case with newer games with the vsync not working well). I tried using things like triple buffering but to no avail. I was told that capping the fps to the monitors refresh rate manually through a console in-game would give smoother gameplay but when I do it makes the tearing even worse and far more visible. So what should I so? I can not think of anything that would fix this through my own knowledge and I am curious to know if it might be a hardware problem.
