Hi my processor is i3 - 2100 3.1 ghz and it is in a LGA1155 socket with H61 chipset. Now, I want to replace my motherboard with the same socket type but different brand and chipset. Would that be possible? I'm thinking of buying H77 chipset rather than H61

Basically, if you have an overclockable CPU and plan to overclock it, you need a mb with a Z77 chipset. Since your CPU is not overclockable, an H61 or H77 will be fine, as long as the socket type is LGA 1155, and the mb supports 2nd generation intel processors.
