Hi,

I just made an account just because I'm so tired of looking for solutions from the web and I'm really hoping someone could help me out here. The deal is that my 2 month old y520 is showing really low perfomance especially in Battlefield 1. In the game no matter what settings I use my CPU is almost always under 100% load while the GPU maxes at only 60%. Also while just browsing the web watching videos the CPU load can go up to 90% which is just ridiculous.

SPECS>

i5 7300hq 2.5gHz

GTX 1060 MaxQ design 6GB

8GB RAM

120GB SSD

1TB HDD

I'm just hoping someone has already tackled this problem and can help me out here because obviously the raw power is not the problem here, rather a software issue or maybe game issue.

Thanks in advance.

yeah I have checked and updated all my drivers. Are you sure a BIOS update will help? Takes alot of time and effort.

It shouldn't take too long, your manufacturer probably has a windows based utility that will do it for you start to end. It may alleviate any possible compatibility issues, can't say for sure if it will help unless it has been tried.

I just did the BIOS update and perfomance in BF1 was somewhat better for like 10 minutes. After some playing it just popped up to 100% usage again and gpu went down to 50-60%.

The problem is not with only BF1... looking at videos of laptops with exact same specs it seems like my laptop is supposed to run like 1.5 times better... for example playing fornite people can play on maxed settings with constant 60 fps while I still get stutters at medium settings. I have done everything I could atleast in my mind. Is this a problem I can go to a Lenovo repair shop with? Maybe it's a bug only my unit has?
