Hi I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64.I rarely get viruses so I really have no clue what's going on. Basically everything is super slow, especially the internet. It changed my homepage and new tab to yahoo, and I'm getting a pop up whenever I click on something. The system also got pretty hot. Anyway I have Kaspersky on my pc and when I tried to run it it did nothing. I went to reinstall it and it's like there's no program, just the icon on the desktop. So I went to reinstall it and it said it wasn't compatible with this pc. Anyway I don't even know where to start with this thing.

Solution
1.Install malwarebytes, run a virus scan in safe mode with networking
2.Install another program called ccleaner to clean your temporary internet folder and fix registry errors
3,Clear your internet proxy settings for your browser
4.Change your browser's default webpage in the settings
5.If all fails, reinstall your internet browser

Nah Malwarebytes doesn't pick anything up, it's like it barely even tries. Kaspersky and Bitdefender looked like they were picking things up but then they suddenly disappeared off the face of the earth and won't reinstall.

Okay, after several restarts your strategy finally worked. Unfortunately when everything looked fine this stupid Adware thing restarted the computer and now it barely responds and the internet won't work. Some programs work but folders and pictures won't open, among other things. Most of it seems to work in safe mode(although slow), but the internet still won't work.

The virus could have damaged your files before you got rid of it.

Go into your control panel, network and sharing center, click on change adapter settings
Select your Ethernet adapter, right click it and select properties
Click on ipv4 and properties
Select automatically get IP address and automatically get DNS server address

If you have windows firewall turned off, turn it back on.

Repeat the above step with malwarebytes.
Open a command prompt and type these in
Ipconfig /release
Ipconfig /renew
Ipconfig /flushdns

Reboot and reinstall your internet browser

This is the error I get when I renew/release: "An error occurred while releasing interface Local Area Connection 2: An address has not yet been associated with the network endpoint."

Then whenever I try to open a folder or something it says:"Server execution failed." Normally I'd just try to reformat it by now but I have so much info on there and I don't even know where my disc is. Haven't had to use it in a few years.

That error "An error occurred while releasing interface Local Area Connection 2: An address has not yet been associated with the network endpoint."

Indicates your internet settings are not configured (it could've been erased or removed from that virus)

1. Clicking the Start menu button
2. Click on Control Panel.
3.In the search box, type network, click Network and Sharing Center, click Set up a new connection or network, and then double-click Connect to the Internet.
4.Follow all steps in the wizard

I agree with Reyaz, you can download Malwarebytes or any other strong antivirus solution like Avira, Immunet or AVG in your system and perform a complete scan with it.

Remove all unwanted programs from your PC manually or with the help of adware removal tool like spy hunter.

Disable all unwanted add-ons from your browser and reset all browser settings

Remove all suspicious start-up items from your system

Open your windows task manager and stop all the consumer related running processes

you can get your network secure too because virus will again come back and cause trouble to your system drivers and your personal information.
