Really slow SSD..

Hey.. I just upgraded to a Kingston HyperX 240 Gb ssd, updated my BIOS, fresh install of Windows 7. Checked forums and I can't see anything I'm doing wrong..

It's painstakingly slow.. My external hard drive is running faster than my ssd.. Its read speed is like 32 mb/s and write at 26 mb/s.. I don't know whats going on..

My motherboard is ASUS m5a97 le r2.0 with an AMD quad core and 16 gb ram.. Drivers are all up to date..

What port do you have your SSD plugged into? I'm assuming it's in the 6Gbp/s slot. I'd try reconnecting the drive & ensure that the drivers are up to date.

that mainboard is capable of 400mbs read

is it a new sata cable?

did you got full the ssd? how full?

Yea.. I tried connecting it to different ports.. It's not changing.. I'm using the same sata cable I was using for my other hd.. That was working fine.. Drivers are all up to date..

Theres only like 50 gb used on it.. Nothing on it other than Windows and my driver downloads..

It saying saying its the secondary drive but there's no other drives plugged in.. Could that be the problem? If so, how do change it to a primary drive??

Is it running in AHCI mode in the BIOS?

other than try another cable and ahci, the ssd is the problem, rma?
