Hi everyone, thank you for taking the time to look at this.
So I just built my first pc and everything seemed good. I installed windows 7 64 bit and then inserted the motherboard driver disc to get all my drivers. This is where things fall apart.
Initially the cd drive reads the disc no problem and the software boots up and even installs everything fine. Once completed it asks for a restart and after the restart I have the following issues:
1. Internet is working but windows updates says it is not running (I've tried every fix i found on YouTube with no luck)
2. The cd drive no longer behaves like a cd drive but instead says 0gb out of 5.01gb available, and when I click on it to run the disc it just freezes the computer. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and it says they are running fine but it no longer boots any discs I put in there
3. Shutting the pc down takes like 6 minutes now when before the motherboard drivers were installed it was less than 5 seconds
4. Initially I called Microsoft about the Windows's updates not working and when they tried to remote in it would blue screen my system.
Right now I did a fresh install of windows and copied all the files from the motherboard driver disc into a folder on my desk top. From there I ran the program and only installed the internet driver and now my windows update is working fine and downloading the updates.
I'm scared to install the other drivers because I don't know which one is causing the issues. Doesn't anyone have a suggestion of what I should do now after windows update is finished to avoid the issues above?
System specs:
Windows 7 64bit home premium (upgrading to ultimate once I'm confident everything is stable)
i7 6700k 4.0 unlocked
Asus Maximus viii hero
Asus gtx 1080 founders edition
16gb tridentZ Ddr4 3000mhz
Kraken x41
Kingston ssd 480gb
Thank you!!!
