Realtek 1gb NIC drive running at 100mbs

I have a realtek rtl8169 gigabit ethernet NIC, installed on a Windows 2003 Server Box. the card is plugged into a 1Gb switch but will only run at 100MB, Any suggestions?

Make sure you're using at least Cat5e cable.

If all else fails, shutdown the Windows 2003 server and pull the power plug from both the server and switch. You might want to pull the 24-pin power connector from the motherboard as well. You want these devices to completely discharge. Let them sit for a few minutes. Now reconnect everything, power them up, and try again.

It is an unmanged Gig-Switch.

Did you check the configuration on the NIC? Is it set to auto but coming up at 100mg? try forcing to 1000mg full duplex (I know you can't have 1gig without full duplex) and see it the NIC comes up.

You never did mention the grade of cable you were using, not to mention the distance between the server and the switch.

What is the switch manufacture and model?
