[SOLVED] realtek audio on an acer motherboard

Hi Guys,

A newbie here and not a wire head either. I am a semi-pro musician who records line-out from a stage piano' into a USB port on an Acer laptop running Realteck Audio (the audio jack has broken). The recording level on the software that I use is way high and into distortion range when I have the output on the stage piano' set around the middle. The recording software does not control input levels, only output levels.

To get the input to the Acer down to a usable level I have to reduce the output from the piano' to a level where I can barely hear what I am playing via the piano' headphones. I need to hear clearly to multi-track.

So, question: is there any way I can suppress the incoming audio signal from the piano' at the Acer end without reducing the headphone jack signal from the same piano'?

All responses gratefully received, thanks.
