Question realtek audio

can someone please help me. Sounds come out of the 5.1 speakers when i use the "Test" option but when i listen to music or watch videos it only comes out the front 2 speakers, can someone please give me any advice.

does the videos you are watching have 5.1 sountracks?

5.1 ability only means that if the soundtrack has all the channels, then it can output it. most likely what you are watching is only channel stereo so that's all the speakers output.

music won't be 5.1 for sure and i'm pretty sure youtube and such are not giving out 5.1 either. have you tried a dvd or something you KNOW has 5.1 soundtrack? i bet it works then

I'm pretty sure spotify has 5.1 capabilities also the movies I watch do too. I download movies all the time and watch with 5.1 capabilities

Are you using spotify app or from your broswer?
Any other media players like VLC?
Can u specify your problem
