I installed a new CPU cooler recently, and after I did so, I plugged in my peripherals again. After I plugged in my headphones into the audio jacks, I started hearing a whine coming from the headphones. I later discovered that the sound correlated with what I had plugged into some USB ports on my motherboard (when I turn my keyboard lights on, the sound changes). I believe that my Realtek chip is outputting the sound of the electrical current passing through the top USB ports. I have already tried reinstalling drivers, disabling and re-enabling the device, all to no avail.
