Hello,
the front panel mic jack on my pc seems to recognise when a mic is plugged in yet there is no playback. I checked in the volume control settings under recording and the mic is displayed but no sound is heard.
This is currently the issue with my Hyperx Cloud gaming headset.
I have a snowball mic connected via usb in the back which works well as well as my webcam mic which also works well.
I tried with another headset and same issue.
However that headset mic did use to work in the past so I don't know what changed.
The mic isn't broken as I tested it on another device.
If there is anyone with any suggestions im open for them.
