Hi All!

I have just built a new PC with the mobo ASUS PRIME Z490-P and with Windows 10 Pro with the update 2004.

The mobo has a built in Realtek ethernet that it is not recognized by device manager and it is impossible to install the driver (downloaded from the ASUS web site) because after the installation the software says:

"Realtek network controller was not found if deep sleep mode is enabled"

I already checked the bios and the LAN adapter seems to be active.

I have finished all the ideas.... please help me:crazy:

You mentioned that the ethernet adapter is not "recognized" by Device Manager. Does that mean that the adapter is simply not appearing?

Things you can do:

Check the View tab to ensure that "Show hidden devices" is checked.

Try running "sfc /scannow" (without quotes) via the Command Prompt.

A similar process is DISM:

Hi Ralston,

following this link you will find the command output.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UtjZ4HLccHpOSgpBlucKRSfVm1qLK5UH/view?usp=sharing

The only network adapter shown is my External USB WiFi adapter.

It seems that the ethernet adapter is not installed in the mobo... and this is impossible.

Just to give you a better view of the story, when I built the system I installed a windows 10 pro version previous of the 2004 update and all worked fine. Then I changed the GPU in the PC and after the installation of the GPU I had to format the PC because for some reason (I don't know why???) the bootloader has been corrupted. Then I installed the 2004 version and all is up and running except for the ethernet.

Could be possible that it is an issue related to the 2004 windows update??

What can I do?

Hi Ralston,

thank you for your support but the problem persists... I also installed again a previous version of Windows 10 Pro before the 2004 update and nothing. It seems that the ethernet controller doesn't exists for Windows. I hope that in the future ASUS will release a fix for this very bad issue.....
