[SOLVED] Realtek uninstalled itself

Can someone please help me? My Realtek HD Audio uninstalled by itself and now I can’t re-install it! I’ve tried everything from re-installing it From my motherboards manufacturer ( Gigabyte) to install it from the website but it doesn’t work! After restarting my pc it stills doesn’t show up and now I have no sound. Please help.

You probably had a Windows 10 device driver update. It has happened to me. Here is the link to the new Windows 10 compatible driver for Realtek HD audio. Just update the driver.

Then once it is installed, go to the Windows 10 settings under System. Then select Sound from the menu. There set the Realtek HDF audio as your default Sound input. You can test it there as well.

Yes nothing shows up. Even when I click on the sound icon on the bottom right there’s only one option and it’s the sound from my TV I’m screwed I don’t have the money to repair it 🙁

Are you sure it’s legit? There’s tons of adds on the website and it’s not a file that I’m downloading but an application.

A fresh install would be better. The reset is going to keep the current drivers.

This driver is from the official Realtek site. When this happened to me, all I had to do was download the driver and unzip it. Then just use the install wizard. If the wizard doesn't show up open the folder and find the setup file, then click on it.

Don't use the Windows device manager to update the driver, if you do then you will end up with a Windows driver instead.
