Realtek unplug plugged problem, microphone suddenly not working

Everything was working normally till yesterday, but since today morning I'm getting pop ups saying that "you just unplugged a device" and "you just plugged a device". My mic would usually stop working and then a few seconds later start working again. But, an unplug popup came and it's not working ever since.

My control panel recognizes the microphone. But it's not working for some reason suddenly. Is it a hardware problem or something related to Realtek? Please help.

First before fiddling with anyting, try another pair of headphones.
To remove issue with broken cable somwhere.

I'll try that. Also, I forgot to mention that while testing my microphone on a website, if I play a YouTube video then I am able to hear that same YouTube video on the test. So can it be related to some issue where the wrong input is being utilized? My Stereo Mix is turned off.
