Alright so i just built my pc yesterday and i installed all the drivers from the msi website because i dont have a cd tray. Anyways i been trying to get my earbuds that have a mic to work on my laptop the mic worked fine and i talked with friends while gaming. My laptop had a realtek popup that let me click "headset (with mic)" but the popup i get now dosent have a headset option just headphones, line in, line out, etc. I wanna use my mic while gaming but it seems i cant and i dont wanna buy a splitter because i should be able to use my mic because it worked before. Thanks

Try downloading your driver from here: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=24&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false

Properly re-install your drivers. Go into Safe Mode, remove the driver, reboot, install. Try plugins mic/earbuds in different ways, like earbuds THEN mic and vise versa.

Try playing with the RECORDING DEVICES as well. For example: disable your mic, plug in earbuds, make sure they work. Then plugin your mic/headset and ENABLE microphone in Recording devices. Try different variations. (recording devices can be found at the lower right corner, near the clock)

Thats where i had downladed my drivers from already and i tried reinstalling drivers didnt help. Also i ment that my earbuds have a mic and it dosent work (sorry if it was unclear). I haev several pairs but all of them didnt work but i use them all the time on my phone
