Sometime back the problems with Dell Rebates were discussed. On 9/22 I
sent Dell a rebate request for my new XPS laptop of $250.00. This
morning I received an email regarding this rebate. I went to the site
they directed me to. I didn't know they did this. Hope it is approved
and sent soon. I will let you know.

Thanks Tom, I was just surprised they give submission details like
watching PC being built. 🙂 "received-processing-approved-mailed".

I second Tom's confidence in Dell. Several years ago I bought a new
Dell that came with a $100 rebate. I applied for the rebate and
received it promptly (approximately 3 to 4 weeks). The check was
clearly marked "void after xx/xx/xx", which was about 30 days in the
future. I signed the check and gave it to my wife to deposit. About
six weeks later, I was sitting at the kitchen table as my wife was
organizing a batch of checks to deposit. Sure enough, there was that
Dell rebate check! I thought we blew it. I called Dell, and a
friendly rep said "no problem, we can credit the $100 to your credit
card". I asked if I needed to return the outdated check. He said
"no, keep it as a souvenir".
