Hello,

I have an old PC, everything ( sound, graphic, net card ) integral. Today, I bought new RAM ( DDR 1 - 512 MB , 400Mhz) I have the same ( DDR1 - 512MB,400Mhz) in PC and one free slot.

But after I added the new, in booting system, system succesfully readed the new RAM ( 1024MB ) , but comes a problem. Rebboting...sometimes XP doesnt boot, sometimes after some minutes in system comes another reboot.

I saw some topics here about voltage, but I am absolutely noob... Can somebody please help me, what ( if ) I have to do, for standart performance without rebooting ?

I removed new Ram and everything is all right.

Old ram :

A-Dara E0615 , ADD9608A8A-5CG ( on chips ) , MDOAD6G3H38JOB1E5E, DDR 400(3) 512MX8 , S/N - 615 TO ( Ad1GC1908 ) - on sticker

New ram : Zeppelin - Z 512DR3282410-4 TW 178Y6950 3 ( on chips ) , Zeppelin 512/400/328 UL CL3 0610 001AE1 ZPAI223208 ( on sticker) .

Thanks for response.

Switch the RAM sticks, put the new one in the DIMM that held the original stick. Insert the old RAM stick in the 2nd DIMM.

You may have some corrosion or oxidation on the second (previously-unpopulated) DIMM slot. Inserting and removing a stick of RAM into the slot may improve the electrical contact.

I did this. If I put new Ram into second slot, it reboot in a loop after boot system. And if I put new into first ( used ) slot, it reboot in system...sometimes after 5 minutes, 10 minutes, half of hour...

Im going to try reputting :)) Maybe there is corosion. Thanks for reply.
