Reboot and select proper boot device error

This is my first build, got all my parts in and put together and im ready to install my os and try out my new pc. I put the disc in the drive and I keep getting this message "reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key" Ive searched the web for the solution to this error but nothing they do works for me.

MOBO: Asus m5a78l-m usb 3.0
OS: Windows 7

You need to enter the BIOS and set the dvd drive as the first boot device .

If iys not listed then check you have both the power lead and SATA cable attached to the dvd drive
