A month or so ago, when my computer would wake up from sleep mode in the morning, I would get the message "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media". My boot drive thatisn't be detected is an SSD. I had been just restarting and it would work, until one day it didn't. The good people on these forums helped me by suggesting I reset CMOS. It worked like a charm. Here I am a couple weeks later, and the problem is back. Resetting CMOS is not working. I have swapped out the battery, but that doesn't work either. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

here is my previous post: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1780455/ssd-dead.html

no, installing a new windows to another hdd wont effect the other one.
check your ssd sata cable if connected properly.

did you check your SSD into BIOS?

yeah, its not listed. the connections are good. like i said, this happened before and reseting CMOS did the trick, but now its not. --which makes me think its not the ssd. i'm wondering if i got a bad pack of batteries... very frustrating

i think you need to disable SLEEP/WAKE UP MODE settings. So it wont happend again. get it? try to put your ssd into another PC, if you got one, check there if really not detected.

well...crazy stuff....i swapped the ssd real quick to see if was dead. it was recognized! so i plugged it back in the desktop, and now everything is back to normal. well, semi normal... my computer thought it was the year 2010 and my icons are it different places, but things are working. here's hoping i get lucky and things stay good
