Hello, I'm currently in the process of building my first PC and i've run into an issue. I currently do not have an OS, or graphics card. After installing all of my current components, which are CPU, CPU Cooler, Disk drive, RAM, PSU, Motherboard, and SSD I decided to hook it up to my monitor with a keyboard and mouse and power it on. Every fan on my rig seems to be working fine, but my motherboad is displaying AE on its LED, which turns out to mean "Boot to Legacy OS" and the monitor currently displays Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key, so i figured pressing a key couldnt hurt, which just displayed the same message again. I inserted the disk supplied with the motherboard, but my disk drive doesnt seem to be reading it. The light on my Disk drive is off, but it blinks as soon as i press a key. Is my issue just not having an OS? Or is there something else that's going wrong? Is it my disk drive? To my knowledge I should be able to access BIOS currently, but I am not able to. Pressing the Delete Key as my Motherboard guide suggests does not work, it just displays the message again. There are no images or text displayed on the screen previous to the message i am currently getting. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully none of my hardware will need to be RMA'd

Solution
You need an OS to boot your new build. Your options are usually installing Windows (Vista, 7, 8) or Ubuntu (or other flavor of Linux). Windows will cost you around $90-$100, while Ubuntu is a free download - you just download it, put it on a DVD or flash drive and install it.

Thank you for the solution, I may wait until I free up some money for windows 8.1, but if i decide to temporarily go the ubuntu route how easy would it be to uninstall ubuntu and install windows 8.1? Or how would I go about doing that?
