When starting our asus laptop the following message is displayed. before this it started no probs but now (this is the first time we have seen it) as we can not log in as the message keeps repeating

"Intel UNDI, PXE-2.1 (build 083)
Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Coorpartion

Reboot and select proper boot device or insert Boot media in selected Boot device and press a key

Either the boot sector of the hard drive is gone or the hard drive itself had failed.

Check to see if the hard drive is detected in the bios, if it is then it's probably just corrupted and needs to be reinstalled. If it is not detected then you most likely need a new hard drive.
