I have Win2k SP3 and it reboots instead of shutting down when I instruct it to shut down. This happens probably 4 of 5 times I shut down. This has always happened even after complete O/S reloads so i think it make be related to my motherboard or something. Any suggestions?

Any setting in your mobo BIOS about the power management to be controled by advance power management or controled by the OS? If there is, you may try to enable that. Not sure if this can help...

Check <b><font color=red>Event Viewer</b></font color=red> to see what went wrong. Typing <b>eventvwr.msc</b> at <b>Run</b> command. It'd show details in <b>System log</b>.
Or you can get into <b>System Properties\Advanced\Startup and Recovery</b>, and uncheck option <b>'Automatically reboot'</b>. If something goes wrong when you're shutting down, you'd get STOP message to tell you what is wrong.

 Good or Bad have no meaning at all, depends on what your point of view is.
