Hello, I recently was able to purchase a hdd external coverter (dock style). Its a BlueRay Docking Station USB 3.0 (for SATA).
I'm trying to fix an HDD with it (Seagate) but it seems when I go to change the permissions to acess said hdd, it just crashes (and all other USB devices connected to my Laptop) but it quickly reboots on.
I checked many ways to fix this, from, checking energy, to disabeling the device on Device Manager. Would like some help please!
Thank you in advance.

EDIT: The HDD had no prior errors or damage.

"fix an HDD "

What was wrong with it in its original environment?
What are you trying to fix?
Sorry! wrong choice of words on my part, It's was ok, the original just changed the pc and wanted the info out of the old one (the one i'm having issue with)

I'd suspect the docking station. Or possibly your USB connection.
Try it with a different PC if possible.
Or a different USB port or cablel
Or try the drive internally in a desktop system.
Not able to check these at the moment will post when I have tried them, thank you!

Well, sorry for the late reply, I was able to get around it by forcibly changing the permissions (Again) for some reason, the first time I changed the HDD's "Letter". Big Ooops on my part!
