Hello, I recently was able to purchase a hdd external coverter (dock style). Its a BlueRay Docking Station USB 3.0 (for SATA).
I'm trying to fix an HDD with it (Seagate) but it seems when I go to change the permissions to acess said hdd, it just crashes (and all other USB devices connected to my Laptop) but it quickly reboots on.
I checked many ways to fix this, from, checking energy, to disabeling the device on Device Manager. Would like some help please!
Thank you in advance.

EDIT: The HDD had no prior errors or damage.

I'd suspect the docking station. Or possibly your USB connection.
Try it with a different PC if possible.
Or a different USB port or cablel
Or try the drive internally in a desktop system.

Well, sorry for the late reply, I was able to get around it by forcibly changing the permissions (Again) for some reason, the first time I changed the HDD's "Letter". Big Ooops on my part!
