Hi everyone,
First of all, I read about ten threads about this issue before posting here for help, so I'll share all the knowledge I've with you to troubleshoot my issue.
What's up with my computer?
So, my computer is not booting at all, meaning, the PSU starts, the mobo starts (well, it seems at least), and after 5 seconds, everything stops, and restarts by itself.
What have I tried yet?
1) My first guess was a faulty PSU, so I just switched to my other, much more powerful PSU to check if that solves the problem.
That obviously didn't work, nothing changed.
2) I then thought it could be a faulty RAM stick (make those sticks burn in hell!) so I tried with one, then the other, then none.
Still nothing.
3) Well, maybe it's the BIOS that's faulty. (a BIOS-hazard? Nevermind...)
Here's the tricky part for me, since my mobo seems not to have any clear CMOS switch, and only a two pins JBAT1. So, I removed the CMOS battery and switched sides for 5 seconds just as MSI recommends to do.
The problem is still running. *Sigh*
4) What about a faulty SSD?
That seems weird since it can't even reach BIOS, but just to be sure, I unplugged my SSD from PSU & SATA.
And nothing worked again.
I've now multiple choices to troubleshoot this:
- The mobo is fried, and I'm fucked since I've no other CPU to test it for this socket.
- The CPU burned in hell, and I'm fucked aswell, since I've no other mobo for that socket.
- I did the CMOS clear part wrong, and I would appreciate some feedback about this part.
- Insert guess here. :-/
Thanks everyone
