Rebuild nightmares windows code

So I took some old parts out of my pc to make a new one, with some new parts, using the old gpu, cpu and a cloned ssd. It started ok but got the windows code 0xc0000225. Whats the easiest way to fix this without reinstalling windows?

Do you still have the same Windows license tied to a different working PC that's connected to the internet?

Your Windows PC talks to Microsoft servers you know. If it detects two systems with the same license that's almost certainly a red flag.

Otherwise if you'd just swapped out the motherboard with the same CPU that would be considered a "repair build" which is fine.

(I found the wording confusing but it sounds like you've built a second PC with the same license which will cause problems).

Using a drive+OS from a different PC often results in not booting up at all.
Being a clone makes no difference.

Time for a reinstall of the OS.
