Disclaimer: I'm not even sure this is possible.

Problem: My four year old gaming system had a motherboard issue and I need to do a rebuild with a new MB and CPU. It's giving me a chance to upgrade which is nice but my problem is the OS. I have the SSD that Windows 11 is on (originally had Windows 10 and upgraded last year). I can't find my original Windows 10 disk so I can't do a fresh install onto the new system. Is there any way to use the current SSD with Windows 11 already on it with the new MB? Like maybe go into BIOS to boot from the SSD? I'm very inexperienced as far as software and BIOS goes. Like I said I have no idea if this is even possible, I'm just trying to avoid spending $130 for a Windows 11 USB from Amazon if I can get away with it. Thank you.

Solution
Is your current Win 11 fully activated?
Linked to your MS account?

You do NOT need to go back to Win 10 first, nor can you.
You do NOT need to purchase a new OS license.

Assuming your Win 11 license is linked to your MS account...a full clean install on the new hardware, and then tell your MS account about the hardware change.

An install pretty much like this, except with WIN 11...

Yes it is. I didn't think of that. I logged into my MS account and in DEVICES I see it. I used the link you provided and it takes me to a download page (as I'm logged in). I'll create a new USB for the rebuild. Thank you so much!!!!! 😀
