Hi guys,

Amateur builder, had a ASUS ROG STRIX 270 with i5-7600k. Perfect system but needed more punch for video editing:

NEW:
ASUS ROG STRIX X-470F
AMD RYZEN 5 3600
Additional 16Gb G.Skill Ripsaw 3200Mhz

EXISTING:
2 x 500Gb SSD (one boot drive running Windows 10)
EVGA GTX 1070 FTW
16Gb G.Skill Ripsaw 3200Mhz

Using the supplied Wrath CPU cooler.

Yellow DRAM light on boot-up no video. Everything lights up (MB, graphics card etc).

Things i've tried:

Just one RAM stick (tried both old ones)
New RAM stick(s) - RAM is compatible so highly doubt it's that.

Unseated and checked CPU - no bent pins.
Tried USBs in different headers and tried booting with non plugged in.

Any ideas? I'm at a total loss. Thanks.

400 series boards do not ship with updated BIOS to support 3000 series CPU out of the box unless expressly stated on the packaging.

You either need to temporarily get a hold of a 2000 or 1000 series CPU to boot into BIOS and update, or return the board and get an X570.
