uzi....
basically it is one very very long single player mission
with 'saves' occurring at regular intervals that you can set
or when you exit the mission it saves your game
the author was tired of playing missions and campaigns that ended
and when you played the next one your progress from the previous
one had absolutely no bearing on the one you were about to start
did you have a sniper rifle or m-60 at the end of the last mission
well you got an m-16 or kozlice at the start of this one
did you just kill two squads of infantry and 3 tanks in Morton
and did you have friendly armour arrive
well your friendly armour is nowhere to be seen and somehow
Morton is reoccupied by the enemy...
what is that???
so the author designed a series of missions for the Nam islands
that have you defending your base against successive attacks
and trying to go out and clear the countryside of various enemy factions
you control a squad but through additional radio calls you can give
orders to up to 3 other squads. you can call for air support and artillery
you can order reinforcements... all that extra comes at a cost
you get 1/2 'point' for every enemy killed.... and 1/2 'reinforcement point'
you use those points to 'purchase' the support and reinforcement via
radio calls
you can slow down time 'a la Max Payne' you can advance time to
6am if you don't like playing at night.... and until you find your first
NVG's it kind of helps....
try it... so far I like it
I much prefer multi-player with the gang.... but if I am gonna play
single-player
I do think that the unscripted war missions are a step in the right
direction
