hello,

i would like to know the opinion of someone who knows a thing or 2 about cpu's.
i am looking to upgrade my cpu for gaming, because my current cpu is a heavy bottleneck for my gpu which is a ge force 970, does anyone reccomend a good cpu for a price under the 350euro mark?
thank you for your time.

Solution

If its over 6 years old i would recomend getting a new motherboard too with a cpu, and if your budget is 350€ or under then you could get a i5-4670k or 4690k and still fit in a good mobo there, but then it depends if you run ddr3 or ddr2 rams then you might need to get a kit of ddr3 ram and a 8gb kit is about 60-70 euros for a nice one

i dont know i will check when i get home but prob not very good because its over 6 years old

If you know what motherboard you have you can check what socket the mobo have, and then you can check cpu,s that they have the same socket.

You can start with telling us what motherboard you have and we can check what cpu would fit

if you want a newer cpu like the i5-4670k/90k you will need a new motherboard as yours is socket lga 1156 and the new one for haswell is 1150
