So I received my i7-930 today. I was looking on it and I'd like to know where is the compound on it?

Is it under the fan? the small gray thingy?

And if I want to apply another compound, I remove it with alcool and then apply a pea of my compound on the processor?

And if I apply my compound, do I void my warrenty?

Yes it is the gray stuff under the fan.

Yes you clean it off with alcohol.

No you won't void the warranty, just be sure to clean it off properly when/if you do an RMA on the unit.
