Receiving a Brand new 4k monitor for xmas Need help with a computer build

Short background, I haven't kept up much with the latest and greatest so I'm coming to the community that I know know's all. So I'm getting this badass screen and need to build something badass to compliment it. I have to wait a few months to save up but 5960x or Skylake? as well as gtx 980? I would like 60 fps on a 4k screen. And whats this Gsync I'm reading about?

the 5960x is only for editing, the 4770k outpowers it in games. I recommend saving up for skylake ( or cannonlake ).
A single gtx 980 would only get about 40 fps on ultra so i think you might want to sli 2 gtx 970`s ( they would cost around the same as 1 gtx 980 and outperform it ) and get around 50 fps. If you really have the money you could always get 2 gtx 980`s

Are you sure the screen your getting will do 60Hz, some only do 30Hz?

5960x is a complete waste of money for gaming only, start at 4:35 for what G sync is. Also he's right about what's your budget, would definitely help if we know
