If I reserved Windows 10 while my PC had Windows 8.1, then wiped the 8.1 and installed the Windows 10 Preview, do I need to put Windows 8.1 back in order to receive my free Windows 10?

I'm hoping to be able to download the .iso and just do a fresh install from the .iso.

Solution
Check Settings > System > About it should say you're on windows 10.
FYI the insider preview means you're still an insider/beta tester.
But if you want regular windows 10 then yes you have to reinstall windows 8 and do a proper upgrade installation.

Yes. To get the free copy, you need to run the installer from within an activated version of 7/8. It will then let you choose whether you want to just upgrade, or clean install and wipe everything.
Yup. Burn it to a CD/USB, and run setup.exe. It should give you this:

After you install it once, you can then install normally from a disk on that PC. Just hit skip both times it asks you for a PC, and it should be activated anyway.
