Recent problems with recent Nvidia GeForce 9-series drivers?

I've got a GeForce 9600 GT - sure it's 4 years old, but it's still a good card. Video cards with 256-bit memory buses aren't exactly common even now.

Trouble is, Nvidia hasn't released a stable (on my system - Windows 7 x64) driver for it for pushing a year - anything beyond 306.97 is a blue-screen nightmare.

What's other people's experiences? Is this card quietly drifting off into unofficial unsupportedness, or is there something else going on.

I'm now running a 9500GT on the latest 320.49 WHQL driver so the 9xxx's are still supported.
