Question Recently bought a refurb system

The d drive was supposed to be 1tb , it shows as about 233gb , and about 700gb+ unallocated ?

Never saw that before...do i just "allocate" the 700gb+ ?

I think it sounds like it isn't fully partitioned and formatted.
If you go to Disk Management.....I think you should be able to partition and format that unallocated space.

Maybe make it the "E" drive......and then your E drive would be about 700 GB.

I cant just add it to the d ? Somehting about "extend volume" ?

Yea ,thanks .Ive read a few arts about extending it , but i dont know if its the way to go ? Will it affect the data already on the drive ? Could there be some reason defect wise ,why they didnt use the whole 1tb of the drive ,and could expanding it cause issues ?

It looks easy enough to do, but ive got no idea if it will cause any issues...

Odds are they wiped the drive and then cloned a boot SSD to the drive and didn't bother extending the partition.
