Recently built PC, Fans and graphics card turn on, but I get no display.

I recently just put together my first PC and I followed a few video guides and I was extremely careful when dealing with the motherboard. Upon completion I turned on my PC while connected to a monitor and all the fans turn on, LED lights do illuminate, and the graphics card's fans run as well. I have tried cleaning my RAM and I still get nothing. When powered, however, there is this slow blinking light that comes from the motherboard. I am open to suggestions, but please remember I am new at this.

My first thought would be that the Z170 motherboard needs a BIOS update to work with that processor.

Agree with above as most likely but only other thing that comes to mind is have you connected the monitor to the motherboard? It should be connected to the gpu.

I tried to see if my motherboard needed a BIOS update before I connected my GPU but I still did not have a connection. I followed a Newegg tutorial and I didn't see anything other than one connection to the GPU. The monitor was connected to the HMDI port that is on the back of the tower. is that not the correct port?

When you have a video card installed the monitor hooks up to the card not the motherboard.

You need to update the BIOS if that doesn't work.
