Hi guys,

So a couple of weeks ago I built a PC (my first PC) and everything was working fine until this morning when I tried to power on the computer it just won't start.

All that happens is that the case fans (both connected directly to the SMPS) start working and the fan lights start blinking. Now, usually when the computer is running fine the lights don't "blink" so I'm pretty sure it's some kind of indication as to something wrong is happening, but I just can't figure out what the problem is.

Please help me guys :)

Thanks!

Solution
OK, so I seem to have my problem solved.

What I did is I disconnected all the wires. Opened up my CPU and gave a nice gentle push to all the connectors (24pin, 6pin etc etc), RAM etc etc and then connected all the wires and powered up my PC. And wooohooo it's working again :p

Thank you for all your time and help my brothers!

Janak2345,

Get this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/301938673750?lpid=82&chn=ps&ul_noapp=true

When you boot up your pc, listen to the amount of beeps and whether if they're long or short. Go into your motherboard manual and check the beep sequence and match the ones that came out the speaker. Will help figure out your problem(s)

Will it post? from what i understand, nothing works except the fans and the fan lights. tell us exactly what parts you put together. theres a lot of shit that can go wrong. that link "luckytheladybug" posted is a good start for diagnosing this.

Hi,

Thank you for the reply.

So, I tried what you suggested and I noticed that the lights start blinking right after I power on the SMPS. Meaning I have not hit the power button on my case yet. And when I do hit the power button I do not hear any sound coming out of the motherboard speaker (which IS connected to the motherboard).

that is indeed a good post, but I personally think it's a problem with the power supply.

So, the parts I put together are:
i5 6500
gtx 1060
gigabyte z170-d3h
corsair 16gb ram (2x8gb)
cooler master hyper 212x cpu cooler
deepcool tesseract mid tower
and here comes the cancerous power supply :p Corsair CX600. Now, I did a lot of research regarding the power supply that I bought and reached mixed conclusions, but I only bought the CX600 since my friend is using it for years (5+) and has had no problems yet. Another reason for me picking this power supply is that we don't really have the "good" ones available in our country (India) and even if we do they are either too expensive or available only in high capacity variants.
