I am having a Logitech Wireless Gamepad F710. I was thinking of buying a set of 2800 mAh rechargeable battries and a charger in next few days. Is it safe to do that or should i use some low capacity batteries. Please help me decide the right one.

Solution

Basically think of it as a cliff vs a hill on a line graph. Ni-cd batteries are a downwards sloping hill, power output steadily dropping as the charge decreases. Lithium is like a smooth run up to a sudden cliff, full power output until the cell is totally dead.

Also, spending the little bit of extra to get Lithium is probably a good idea if you can find them where you live. That will deliver solid power until the cell is drained, instead of a steadily decreasing powerflow like ni-cd batteries.

You should buy rechargables that will keep the charge for a longer time, they discharge at a much slower pace. For example: Sanyo enerloop. Or buy rechargables that can do that as well.

Enerloop can be rwcharges 1800 times, compared to others 1000 times...

Why is Lithium batteries better then Ni-cd batteries ?
