hi
i recently moved and at my home my cell service has no signal .
i installed google voice and got a number but had to verify through a landline.
so i can call out fine now using wifi and google voice hangouts dialer app.
but when someone calls me i on the google voice number it always rings the landline.
this would be fine but the landline is in another room and frequently used there.

is there any way or app that will let me receive a call on my cell through wifi

thanks

It sounds like you have Google Voice configured to forward calls to your landline. Login to your Google account (on a computer), go to Google voice ( https://www.google.com/voice ), settings, and disable any forwarding. Google Voice should then ring the Hangouts app in your cell phone.

Be forewarned that Hangouts/Voice calls tend to really suck down battery life. Your phone will probably only be able to make a couple hours of calls on battery. The situation is much improved with Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). Hangouts calls with that seem to take only a little more battery than cellular calls. But most phones don't have Marshmallow yet.
