[SOLVED] Recieving an "Unsupported protocol. Only HTTP and FTP protocols are supported" error whilst trying to install a piece of software

When installing this piece of software the installer requires it to download/update certain files from the internet however, during this proccess I recieve an "Unsupported protocol. Only HTTP and FTP protocols are supported" error. I have tried installing the same piece of software in a fresh VM and it works flawlessly meaning that the issue most likely lies within my system and not the installer itself.

Specs:
Win 10 Home (64 bit)
i7-7700HQ (2.80 GHz)
8 Gb RAM
Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your reply, however as if by magic when I tried to install the program again for the 4th time it magically worked with no troubleshooting on my part. Strange.
